Selling
Taxes and your 1099-K
A quick, plain-English overview. This isn't tax advice — for how any of it applies to you, please talk to a qualified tax professional.
Who handles your tax form
Because your payouts run through Stripe, Stripe is the one that issues your 1099-K if your sales reach the level that requires one. Stripe already collects the tax details it needs during payout setup, so there's nothing extra for you to file with us.
Where to find it
Your tax forms and payment records live in your Stripe account. Open it any time from the "View payouts in Stripe" button on your seller dashboard. If Stripe issues you a 1099-K, that's where you'll access it, and Stripe will contact you about it directly.
Do I get one?
Whether a 1099-K is issued depends on IRS rules, which can change year to year and by state. We don't set those thresholds and can't tell you whether you'll receive a form — Stripe applies the current rules. A tax professional can help you understand your situation.
Keeping your own records
Even below any reporting threshold, it's smart to keep your own records of what you sold and earned. Your sales appear on your seller dashboard, and the full payment history is in Stripe.
