The Aisle Exchange

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 26, 2026

This is the plain-English version of how we handle your information — because you should be able to actually read it. The Aisle Exchange is a free tool for styling and planning your wedding, and we only collect what we need to do that. We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

What we collect

When you use The Aisle Exchange, here's what we gather — and only this:

  • Your name and emailwhen you create an account.
  • Your passwordstored only as a secure, one-way hash (bcrypt). We never see it, and it's never kept in plain text — not even we can read it.
  • Your quiz answers and wedding detailsthe venue type, guest count, wedding date, budget range, and style preferences you tell us. We turn these into your archetype and color palette.
  • What you buildyour saved lookbook, your checklist progress, your day-of timeline, your vendor list, your budget, your guest list, and your seating chart — including anything you add, like song titles, your vendors' contact details, the amounts and payments you track for them, and the tables you lay out.
  • Your guest list, including your guests' detailsthe parties (households) and guests you add — their names, mailing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, RSVP status, and meal choices. Because this is other people's information, we hold it only to run your guest list for you; we never sell it, and it's deleted with your account.
  • Selling your decor, only if you choose toif you list items in our resale marketplace, we collect what a sale needs: a seller display name, a payout handle (like a PayPal or Venmo username — never bank account numbers), a rough ships-from location (city, state, ZIP — not your street address), and the listings you create, including their photos. Approved photos are shown publicly on the shop; we strip location metadata (EXIF/GPS) from every image before storing it. None of this exists unless you become a seller.
  • Google info, only if you choose Google sign-inyour Google email address and basic profile. If you sign up with an email and password instead, Google never enters the picture.
  • Your email preferencewhether you've opted in to marketing emails. It's off unless you tick the box at signup or turn it on in your account settings.

How we use it

Only to run the app for you:

  • To create and save your account, so your work is here when you come back.
  • To personalize your lookbook, palette, and checklist to your wedding.
  • To let you share your board or timeline with a link, if you choose to.
  • And — if you've opted in — to reach you about new products, offers, and updates. (We don't send marketing emails yet — more on that below.)

That's it. We don't sell your information to anyone, we don't run ads, and we don't load third-party advertising or tracking scripts.

Marketing emails

We don't currently send marketing emails. For now, ticking the box at signup or turning on the toggle in your account settings simply records your preference. If we do begin sending them, we'll only ever contact brides who've opted in, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link. You're always in control:

  • Change your mind any timeturn the preference off from the toggle in your account settings — and if we ever do send marketing emails, every one will carry an unsubscribe link as well.
  • Account and service emails are separatethe essential messages about your account and your plans aren't marketing, so you'll still receive those either way.

Who else touches your data

To run the app, a few trusted services handle parts of your information on our behalf. We keep this list short and honest:

  • Shopifyour store runs on Shopify. When you tap “Shop this,” you're taken to our Shopify checkout to buy the item — that part is handled by Shopify and governed by their privacy terms. Your account details stay with us.
  • Googleonly if you choose to sign in with Google, so they can confirm it's you.
  • Vercel and Tursoour hosting and database providers. They securely store your data on our behalf so the app can run; they don't use it for their own purposes.
  • Klaviyothe email provider we intend to use if and when we start sending marketing emails. We aren't sending any yet, so nothing has been shared with them so far.

Your rights and control

Your wedding, your data. You're in control:

  • Delete everything, any timefrom your account page you can permanently delete your account — and we mean permanently. It removes your profile, your lookbook, your checklist, your timeline, your vendors and their payment records, your budget, your guest list and everyone on it, your seating chart, your seller profile and any listings and photos you posted (the photo files too, not just the records), and any share links you created. Gone, not hidden. We built this in on purpose, because you shouldn't have to email anyone to leave.
  • Access or correct your datawant a copy of what we have, or need to fix something? Email us and we'll take care of it.
  • Regional rightsif you live somewhere with extra data protections — like California (CCPA) or the EU and UK (GDPR) — you have additional rights over your data, and we honor them. Just reach out.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and your session secure. They're not for tracking or advertising — just so you don't have to log in on every page.

Changes to this policy

The Aisle Exchange is growing, and this policy will grow with it. If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Nothing sneaky.
